It’s almost a year since we last updated our favorite product. Namely the Jacky. Again a lot of improvements and small fixes have been made for your pleasure. Again this update is free of charge and will be available soon in all retail stores and soon there will also be a web shop where you can download updates and order your very own Jacky.

So this version is version 2.5. All the versions between 2.0 and 2.4 have just been released for our group of beta testers who are also very excited about this release.

New Features:

• Your Jacky now has a girlfriend. This girlfriend has been in development for almost six months already and is approved by all parents. Your Jacky might just run into a few problems with the girlfriends mother. But you can’t blame us for that.
• We added a driving license so Jacky can now legally drive a car. It took us quite a while and at least 2 test runs to get it working.
• Jacky finished his secondary school in Informatics so you might be able to use him for a lot of IT related issues. There are just a few things your Jacky just won’t do: Use Microsoft Frontage, Make your Myspace page super fancy, use tables for layout (As in HTML)
• We added a list of visited festivals so he might be able to tell you what would be the best summer festival for you to go to.

Improvements

• Removed a lot of crap from the “Favorite Music” list and added a bunch of new awesome music.
• Improved responsibility (ie: While cycling…)
• Improved cooking skills
• Improved appreciations for Germans and their country
• Improved canoeing skills

Bug Fixes

• Removed the “Excessive Drinking” bug almost completely
• Since we added the Girlfriend feature the “Depression” issue also seems gone.
• Last years’ Math grades which were way too high are now on a normal level again.

Known Issues

• We tried the best we can but we still haven’t found a way to make him like people who are called “Kevin” or “Kenny”. This bug seems impossible to fix
• Some issues with to-be mother in law

All in all we hope you enjoy this update and we will continue supporting this wonderful product.

The Ship has already been hoovering for the past 6 hours and ONLY those who believe are seeing it. Some are even allowed to board the ship for a brief moment of time and taken back to earth. The skeptics are missing this great moment because of their disbelief and mockery. Lots of activities are underway inside the ship right at this very moment. Direct contact with leaders of the military has been established and our earth brothers are convinced that the ship and its occupants are not hostile. The mission is due to be completed in 66 hours.

Let’s now just hope they don’t attack our imagination…

This is it people. On October 14th it’ll be the end of the universe as we know it. For the first time in the history of the human race, a large UFO will be visible for at least 3 days above the United States. Complex computer simulations have calculated and made a visualization of what they expect to happen that day.

I was quite ‘excited’ when I read about Messenger TV on Windows Live Messenger.
Messenger TV is a new ‘Activity‘ on Windows Live Messenger. With it you can view online videos together with your contacts. It would mean you’d actually don’t have to go to others people’s places to watch TV. You can watch anything with your Virtual Friends and have a lot of Virtual Fun.

I tried it out for the first time yesterday. Me and a good friend watched a whole episode of South Park and we Lolled many times. I was already imagining how cheap and easy it would be now: not having to take girls out to the cinema, but just sit on our asses in front of the PC screen and watch some Beavis and Butt-head and (k)’ing eachother for the first time 10 minutes later.

But as I wanted to view some videos with someone today. My world fell apart…

Robert Plant couldn’t live with the fact that Led Zeppelin would tour without him and he’d not be part of the biggest tour of the century. So therefore he agreed to join John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Jason Bonham for a tour in the summer of 2009.

Rock legends Led Zeppelin are set for a reunion tour after singer Robert Plant finally caved in and agreed to join them. Guitarist Jimmy Page, 64, bassist John Paul Jones , 62, and drummer Jason Bonham, 42, had resigned themselves to touring without Plant. They even rehearsed with stand-in singers — and one American was so impressive they were confident they could hit the road next year without Plant.
That was what finally persuaded him to return.

A source revealed: “The rest of the band had all but given up on Robert joining them, but they were determined to go ahead so had started to seriously explore other avenues. “When Robert realised the band were serious about doing it without him, it made him think long and hard.
“He realised he couldn’t face the thought of not being involved.
“The band were over the moon when he told them the news.
“They are now forging ahead with the tour plans and they can’t wait to get on the road.”

The tour, set for next summer, follows the massive success of their one-off reunion show at London’s O2 Arena in December. Led Zep, who have sold more than 300million albums worldwide, formed in 1968 and split up in 1980 when drummer John Bonham — father of Jason — died aged 32.

Rolling Stone magazine dubbed them the biggest band of the ’70s.

Het schooljaar is weeral volop aan de gang. Het zesde jaar is traditioneel het gipjaar. Gip staat voor Geintegreerd proef: dat wil zeggen dat alle vakken die we krijgen er ongeveer zullen worden geintergreerd. (Vooral Informatica, nederlands en Engels). Deze vrijdag moeten we “solliciteren” voor een project. We hadden keuze uit 4 verschillende projecten: Een webradio, een online magazine, een virtueel museum of een toeristische website. Omdat geen van die projecten ons (dwz: ons groepje) wouden we een browsergame maken. We kregen vooral veel nee’s. Om de hele situatie een beetje uit te weg te gaan en gewoon goed te kunnen starten hebben we gekozen voor een virtueel museum waar we later dan een browsergame aan zullen kopellen.

Onze (voorlopige) werknaam is Ora Excedo. Naar mijn mening niet echt geweldig but it will do for now.

Ik zal verdere ontwikkelingen hier blijven posten, of op de blog van onze website.

A lot of work has been done behind the scene and we are very excited to get everyone’s feedback and bug reports for this new version (Not that we get excited from bug reports or anything…). Changes and improvements:

• Improved Languages: Dutch, English, French, German, Latin, Italian and Spinach
• New Feature: Choose your hairstyle, in update 1.9 we gave Jacky some hair. With this new update you can choose between 6 different hairstyles (Exotic, Wild, Flat, Emo, Punk, Barbie). It takes at least 3 hours of sleep for it to be adjusted. You can also take your Jacky to some of our ‘Partners in Hairstyle’. For a few J$ck$’s, you can choose any hairstyle from the Jacky’s Hairstyle Catalogue.
• Improved Hand-Eye Coordination
• Added Friends list
• Drastically reduced the need for soft drinks, a Jacky can now survive for at least a week without any soft drinks and 2 weeks if you just give him Red Jackull.
• The chance of your Jacky getting broke has also been reduced. This was actually a hard one as the old Jackys were known for spending an awesome lot of your money on things such as: 5.1 Surround systems, pencil Crayons and the Coca Cola Company.
• Social Interaction has been improved.
• Updated the list of interests.
• Reduced ‘Fear during moshpits’
• Jacky will now remember the birthday of his parents, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts and grandparents.
• New Feature: We added a few smell detectors to the nostril zone so Jacky will automatically detect bad smells on himself and/or other Jacky’s and even real persons. When he detects bad smells coming from himself he will try to take care of them by: Taking a shower, Brushing his Jackyteeth© , Putting on new clothes, Stop sleeping with your dog.
• Reduced smelliness of farts by 20% and decreased farting rate with 25%
• You can let your Jacky listen to any kind of music you want. (Everything except techno and Industrial, we find it inappropriate for any person/Jacky to listen to that kind of crap)
• Added new clothes to the wardrobe.
• Added new library of Safety tips and Regulations to the internal memory so he will be able to drive safer and get rid of your toxic waste more efficient, he will also care more about the environment.

Known Issues

• Sexual Interaction with your Jacky is still limited to Female Users only !
• Jacky will still freak out about any number somehow related to 23
• He might still act a little awkward in some Social Situations, but don’t worry: He’ll survive.
• Jacky still can’t get along with people called ‘Kevin’ or ‘Kenny’.
• If you overload his stomach with different kinds of alcohol, he might puke…
